Fall is the best time to visit Lake Tahoe, weather is good, crowds are gone, perfect for hiking and exploring.
The first snow of the season-now is the time to book your ski/board vacation!
Or plan Thanksgiving in the mountains, cook at the house or dine at one of the many restaurants in town that are serving a holiday feast.
The Ormsby House is a 4 bedroom, two story home set on a huge lot. This home is centrally located in South Lake Tahoe, easy driving to the ski resorts, Lake Tahoe beaches and marinas, shopping, dining and exploring the great outdoors.

Centrally located, but yet on a quiet street. It is a short drive to the Heavenly Village-shopping, great dining, movie theatre and more. Just past there is the casinos-concerts and gaming. Heavenly Mountain Resort offers skiing in the winter, and hiking and gondola rides, adventures in the summer.

The entry level includes a family room with TV, 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom.
The upstairs level includes: a living room with gas fireplace, kitchen, full bath and the 4th bedroom. There is a deck off the dining area with a propane BBQ. The deck is a great spot for a morning coffee, evening BBQ or just sitting and enjoying the view and the sounds of nature.

While staying here, please make sure to follow local ordinances (noise/maximum occupancy and maximum vehicles on site)We also require a signed rental agreement for every reservation and the person signing must be 25 years of age, must be staying at the property and have a copy of the signed rental agreement with them during their stay.

When traveling to Tahoe in the winter be prepared for winter driving, possible road closures and delays in snow removal. You are booking a trip to the mountains so come prepared.
Our snow removal crews work every day, but we have no control over the county road snowplows that clear the roads..
4WD and or chains are always recommended. If you come in a small, low-profile vehicle you may have difficulties.
Tahoe has experiences frequent power outages during snow, rain, wind events. We provide lanterns, but sometimes they disappear (or batteries vanish)

  This home was a big let down. It was not clean, the bed linens and bath towels were mildew smelling-I had to wash them before use. The beds were at least 20 years old, there were no mattress covers on them, you could feel the springs when lying on them. The blankets were soiled and dirty-I washed them as well. The pillows had no zippered covers on them. At least if you are not going to replace the mattresses foam toppers should be put on them. There was not enough toilet paper for 2 days/6people. The bear-proof trash receptacle was full so we were not able to deposit all of our trash in it upon check out. The carpet was dirty and didn't look to be vacuumed before our stay. There was debris and dead spiders in the washing machine agitator (the top was missing so things could crawl in), the walls were dusty and had spiders in the corners of the rooms. The upstairs bathtub was slow draining. The doorknob on the front door was loose, not secure. Since the inception of VRBO/Airbnb this was the worst VRBO we stayed at and for the price, was definitely not worth it.

  House is in good location. However overall the house is in desperate need of an update! Things are very old and dirty and the bedrooms on first floor had a musty smell. The kitchen was ok and had pretty much all you need. Bathrooms are small. Bedrooms were very cramped. Some things were dusty and sticky from not being cleaned properly. Management was fine. The place served its purpose of giving us a place to stay while enjoying Tahoe. But it would have been much more enjoyable if things were in better condition.

  Plenty of rooms to fit your party. Spacious house to enjoy both levels. Has mostly what you need in the kitchen. Location was great. Not too far from the lake, but not too close from the crowd. I would recommend.

  This property has a great location about 15 mins. from the strip. The place was pretty clean and in a quiet neighborhood. The deck was large and spacious, but they should add more outdoor furniture so that it’s not just a large deck with nothing on it. The fridge barely stayed cold enough to keep our food in. We tried to open the fridge the most minimal amount of times possible. The furniture was like they picked everything up from a garage sale down the street and was in poor condition. Master bed was the only bed in the house that was comfortable to sleep on. I think my biggest complaint is that there were NOT enough fans provided for how hot the upstairs gets. You almost have to have all windows open at all times to not die of heat up there. Personally it reminded me of someone’s cute/old Bach pad. If you are looking for a place to just crash and not enjoy the amenities than this is the place for you!
  Also, this was not the original house we rented. I got stuck with this one a few months before my trip because the original house I rented was under construction and not ready in time...

  Beds are old and uncomfortable, some sheets and covers have permanent stains. Couches are super old, dirty, and almost breaking apart. I wouldn’t recommend this property at all.

  Generally ok but dissatisfied with the condition of the place. The amenities offered are very old, the floor in the kitchen was sticky and the utensils were dirty and greasy. We couldn't find dishwasher pods and we had to hand-wash everything or go back to the stores to buy pods. The place could use a little care and I would brief the cleaning staff to actually clean and make it pleasant for new guests. Worth spending more for a better stay.

  I had a great time on vacation and the house had everything we needed. The location was also awesome. I only had a few minor issues with the house. One was the person before didn't take out the trash so the trash was full, which didn't allow us to use the trash at all. The upstairs bathroom wouldn't turn to shower it stayed in bath, we had kids so we made it work. Overall, it was a great stay. I would have given it a 5 for sure if it weren't for the minor issues.
